Cold-rolled strip steel for your quality products
Kaltband AG is one of the world's leading manufacturers of cold-rolled steel strip and supplies quality solutions for a wide range of applications. We use cold rolling to further process steel strip into sophisticated flat products. Cold-rolled steel strip is characterised by high stability and functionality and is used to manufacture precision parts that fit exactly.
From raw material to strip steel
Our cold-rolled steel strip undergoes a continuous forming process to achieve a reduction in cross-section of up to 80% compared to the unprocessed steel form. The material thickness between the rolls is reduced by means of high speeds and temperatures under recrystallisation.
In order to achieve the best material properties, our employees check the quality of the intermediate products throughout the entire production process. The typical cold rolling process is as follows: Depending on the raw material, this is first slit. This is followed by pre-rolling and annealing with subsequent re-rolling. In the next step, the intermediate product is cut and, optionally, the edges are machined. After quality and safety checks, the hardened products are packaged and weighed, ready for further processing by our customers.
Flexible edge designs
Depending on the subsequent use and the product properties to be achieved, the edges are processed in different designs. Common designs include cut, right-angled, circular or bevelled edges.
